It's a bit like how the native americans and europeans had completely different tech trees and stuff one side tought impossible turned out to be perfectly doable :
Some examples from the natives pov : guns , horses , iron weapons , books , large ass ships with sails , cannons , iron armor
Some from our pov : moneyless societies , obsidian swords , brain surgery , some pretty advanced agricoltural practices , kayaks
And yeah different styles can just develop differently : swordplay got developed differently between germany and italy :
In italy the superior range , and fatality of thrusting was recognized and you got raipiers that where made as a result
In germany thrusting was seen as girly , and slashing was the manly and burly thing to do ...
There where many similar things with soviet vs american tank design ,
Current american jet design vs european jet design ...
And if these differences get exagerrated you may end up with seriusly different philosophies of how to do things ...
Classical vs self taught is a microcosm of the discovering process is made trough induction wich may end up reaching an entirely different conclusion even from tge same starting processess ,
Deduction is all well and cool , but is thanks to induction that we become individuals !
i love pitting classically trained magic users against self-taught magic users in sci-fi/fantasy but it shouldn’t be snobbish disdain for them it should be terror

The article titled "General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon" by Peter Suciu, published on July 20, 2024, explores the storied history and evolution of the American-made F-16 Fighting Falcon. Originally a product of General Dynamics, now produced by Lockheed Martin, the F-16 was developed during the 1970s as a lightweight, multirole fighter. It saw its first official flight in 1974 and has since been adopted by numerous countries globally, notably Israel, and recently pledged to Ukraine for its conflict with Russia. The aircraft's features include advanced cockpit designs, fly-by-wire controls, and a unique engine intake that ensures optimal performance. Over its service years, the F-16 has been engaged in various conflicts, from Middle Eastern engagements by Israeli forces to its extensive use by the U.S. Air Force during Operation Desert Storm. This versatile and durable aircraft, known for both its air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, continues to serve as a force multiplier around the world while also being a prominent figure in peacekeeping missions and air shows.

Ukrainian F-16s Might Be Armed With The Maverick Missile - Technology Org
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/ukrainian-f-16s-might-be-armed-with-the-maverick-missile-technology-org/
Ukrainian F-16s Might Be Armed With The Maverick Missile - Technology Org
Ukraine is waiting for its F-16s. These jet fighters and their future pilots are still being readied. But what will they use for ammo?
The Netherlands is one of the countries that decided to donate its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Ukraine is eagerly waiting for them, the pilots are already being trained and the first batch of the Fighting Falcons should be in Ukraine in the coming months.
But a fighter jet without weapons is just a very fast plane.  Defense Minister of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren announced that the country is buying a package of weapons for the F-16s donated to Ukraine for 150 million euros. In addition, 200 million euros will be allocated for reconnaissance drones.

One of the more important weapons that the Ukrainian F-16 will receive will be air-to-surface missiles, especially the ones designed for close air support. Part of that package is believed to be the American AGM-65 Maverick missiles, which are quite common, very effective and battle-proven.
The AGM-65 Maverick is an air-to-surface missile that entered service back in 1972, featuring a modular design that allows the use of different warheads and guidance systems depending on mission requirements. The Maverick was designed for close air support, which means that it doesn’t have a very long range. It flies only for around 22 km before hitting the target. These missiles primarily target armoured vehicles, such as main battle tanks and self-propelled howitzers.
The F-16 can carry up to six Maverick missiles. The length of one of those missiles is about 2.4 m, the diameter is 30 cm. The Maverick rocket reaches 1150 km/h and has an electro-optical, IR-seeking or laser guidance system. Although Maverick has been in service for a very long time, these missiles have been updated many times and are very precise. Those six missiles fired by an F-16 are likely to hit six targets.
The defenders of Ukraine are going to use their F-16 fighter jets to defend the country’s skies. They will shoot down cruise missiles, they will try to continue to destroy the planes bombing the Ukrainians with gliding bombs.
But attacks on ground targets will also be very important. The AGM-65 Maverick has been in use for a very long time and is not very expensive. It has proven its advantages in more than one war, and can help burn many Russian tanks and artillery systems.
It is still not clear when Ukraine will get its first batch of F-16s. Some people forecast it is going to happen this summer. However, it will not be announced and the weapons used by them will not be discussed publicly.

Below the cut is a template email to send to Edinburgh Pride regarding sponsorship from Aegon, who have investments linked to the genocide in Palestine. Please feel free to use this text or edit it and make it your own and send it to [email protected]
Dear Edinburgh Pride,
As a queer person living in Edinburgh, I was deeply saddened to learn that the march partner for Edinburgh Pride 2024 is Aegon.
In December 2023 the ‘Don’t Buy Into Occupation Coalition’ published a report that showed Aegon have US$564million invested via shares and bonds in companies operating in illegal settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territories. Source: https://dontbuyintooccupation.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023_DBIO-III-Report_11-December-2023.pdf
We are watching a live-streamed genocide every day - over 36,000 people in Palestine have been murdered by Israeli forces, including at least 15,000 children. The brutality of these atrocities are unthinkable, with evidence of torture and targeting of hospitals, ambulances and refugee camps.
We all have a responsibility to do what we can to end this genocide. As queer people, we are part of a rich history of resisting oppression and dehumanisation - of both ourselves and those we stand in solidarity with. Pride started as a protest against homophobia, transphobia and police violence. It is an important moment to come together as a community to celebrate queer joy and resilience.
But how can we celebrate using profits stained with the blood of our siblings in Palestine?
Aegon has $564million invested in companies that have been listed by the UN as “raising human rights concerns” for their operations in illegal settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territories, In 1948, 750,000 Palestinian people were displaced from their homes and lands and since then, Israeli settlements have been used to spread this process of colonisation.
In addition to this figure, Aegon also has major investments in Eaton Corp Plc., who supply parts for helicopters and fighter jets to the Israeli military and have recently been the target of major protests at their factory in Dorset. They also invest in Amazon, who support the Israeli military with surveillance technology used against Palestians.
Israel has long used ‘pinkwashing’ as a tactic to justify the brutal repression of Palestinians, using queer people to legitimise this horrific violence. We refuse to allow this to be done in our name.
The tide is turning on companies like Aegon that profit from investments in the companies complicit in genocide. Recently, both Hay and Edinburgh Book Festival have dropped Baillie Gifford as a sponsor after over 800 authors called on them to divest from companies involved in Israel and the fossil fuel industry.
I ask that Edinburgh Pride:
Calls on Aegon to commit to divest from companies involved in supplying technology to Israel and operating in illegal settlements.
Drop Aegon as a sponsor until they are able to show evidence of divestment.
Publicly call for a ceasefire and a free Palestine.
There is no pride in genocide.
I look forward to hearing your response.
